Joseph William
Walker
Feb 2, 1947 — Aug 12, 2021
Joseph William Walker, 74, of Bartlett, TN, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on August 12, 2021. He was the son of Arthur and Gladys Walker. Joe was an exceptional man, a loving husband, father, Grandfather, and friend. He loved people and he never met a stranger. If you needed a helping hand, he was there. He enjoyed being in the middle of things. He was born in Wichita, KS. After graduating from Wichita Heights high school, Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Later, he graduated from Wichita State University, he joined General Foods as a sales representative and continued working in sales while living in Cape Girardeau MO, Knoxville, TN, and Memphis, TN. His love for the University of Tennessee Volunteers began while living in Knoxville. He loved U T football and all UT sports. He also loved following his alma mater, Wichita State University sports. He was a member of Bartlett Hills Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was the President of Golden Circle, the senior Citizen group. He loved the members, and they were very special to him. Joe was very good at delegating. If he or someone else proposed a trip or outing, he would quickly find volunteers to make it happen. The things he enjoyed most of all was his family. He loved his son Mike and his daughter-in-law, Tracey when they gave him two grandchildren, Garrison, and Tatum. He knew the Lord had truly blessed him. They were the light of his life. Joe attended many football, basketball, and baseball games, to watch Garrison play. Tatum introduced her grandfather to cheerleading, and he loved it. He will be missed by his family and friends, but most deeply by his wife of 51 years Diane. He was her best friend and the love of her life. But he is with Jesus now and will still be watching over his family.
