Joyce Marie Jernigan, 78, passed away at her home Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Jackson, TN. Joyce was born in Ripley, TN on December 24, 1944, to the parents of James and Dorothy Hamby. Some of Joyce's interests included spending time with family, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, watching her favorite television shows, she loved playing with her dogs, and being outside in nature. She is survived by her children: Pamela Daniel, 59 of Southaven, MS, Michelle Taylor, 55 of Jackson, TN, and Michael Jernigan, 55 of TN, her grandchildren: Joshua Daniel, 39 of Horn Lake, MS, Brandon Max, 34 of Memphis, TN, Amber Jernigan, 33 of Lakeland, TN, Erika Conlon, 31 of Memphis, TN, and Bryan Jernigan, 19 of Henderson, TN, as well as great grandchildren: Molly, 13 of Horn Lake, MS and Cameron, 9 of Memphis, TN. She also leaves behind her siblings: Barbara Smith, 83 of Louisiana and James Hamby II, 80 of Henning, TN. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents as well as her stepfather Leonard Stilwell. We will miss Joyce very dearly and she will be in our hearts forever.
