Joyce Elaine Johnson, 85, passed away peacefully on October 14th at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House. Born in Keiser, Arkansas, Joyce graduated from Tech High School in Memphis, Tennessee. She worked for many years with Memphis City Schools before later working with the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).

Joyce was a loyal friend and a caring presence in the lives of those around her. She is survived by her husband Frank Lee Johnson, Jr., her brother Malcolm Goode, Jr., her daughter Tatia Johnson, her grandchildren Brandon Johnson and Callee Johnson Gilland, and her great-grandchildren River Lee Gilland and Addi Grace Gilland. Joyce was predeceased by her sons, David and Kevin Johnson, her father Malcolm Goode, Sr., her mother Nerine Goode, and her brother Larry Goode.

An accomplished seamstress and someone who took joy in decorating her home, Joyce was known for her creativity and her warmth. She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and her cat, Chipper.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the City of Bartlett Animal Shelter or the Alzheimer's Association in Joyce's memory.
