Joyce Pauline Riggins, age 91, resident of Rutherford, Tennessee departed this life Tuesday afternoon, April 7, 2026 at her home.

Joyce was born July 21, 1934 in Horn Lake, Mississippi, the daughter of the late James Charlie Stewart and Lacey Lafay Smallwood Stewart. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and cooking for her family and friends. Joyce spent many years of her life babysitting children in her home before her retirement. Joyce was a resident of Memphis for most of her life and a member of Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Church. After moving in with her daughter in Rutherford, TN, Joyce attended Pleasant Hill Church of Christ with family and friends.

Joyce will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She never met a stranger and always made everyone feel extra special.

Joyce Riggins is survived by her daughter, Patricia Barnes (Mike); two sons, Mike Riggins (Jan) and Frank Riggins (Sherri); three grandchildren, Christy (Jason), Lisa (Jeff), and Wesley; six great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Jessi, Madison (Clay), Lane, Justin, and Jonathan; and one great-great-grandchild, Ellie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bryant Riggins; one sister, Juanita Ingram; two brothers, Charles Stewart and Hancel Stewart.

Funeral Services for Joyce Riggins will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home in Memphis. The officiating ministers will be Jeff Brown and Lane Brown. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park at 2440 Whitten Road.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Lane Brown, Justin Brown, Wesley Riggins, Jonathan Riggins, Jaxon Byrd, and Clay Carver.
