Judith Karen "Judy" (Maxey) Gayhart

July 8, 1949 - April 2, 2026

Judith Karen "Judy" (Maxey) Gayhart, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 2,2026.

Judy was the eldest daughter of Bo and Joy Maxey and was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Cindy Elder and her brother Billy Maxey. 

She shared 57 devoted years of marriage with her lifelong sweetheart, Jimmy Gayhart. Together they raised three children: Jim Gayhart, Amy Speight, and Shelby Scoggins. 

Judy found her greatest joy in her family and leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory forever. 

A private graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
