KARL HEINZ EGGERT, 93, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 of natural causes. Karl leaves his daughters Norma Schoggen and her husband Jimmy, Brenda Lovett, Linda Carlisle, Jo Ann Wims, sons Donald Wilson, Michael Eggert, 23 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and many close friends. Born in Gustrow, Germany, the son of William and Hedwick Eggert, he was a lifelong resident of Tennessee. In his early years, Karl moved to the United States where he became a citizen on December 27, 1946. In 1945, he joined the US Army Air Force, where he was an airplane crew chief. PFC Karl worked for Semmes Chrysler Plymouth in Whitehaven until his retirement. He enjoyed music, watching old movies, and played several musical instruments including his favorite, the accordion, and spending time with his family. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 3 and funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 4 at Forest Hill Funeral Home, 2545 E. Holmes Road, with the procession to West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery to follow, where Karl will be interred. You will be truly missed and we love you dearly.
