Katherine Olivia Ijams, 87, of Memphis, TN, passed away on October 11, 2015 at her home. She was born in Meridian, MS to the late Thomas & Hettie Irby. Mrs. Ijams was head nurse at St. Joseph Hospital. She was a former member of Forestview Church of Christ and a current member of Highland Church of Christ. Mrs. Ijams was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joe Ijams. Mrs. Ijams is survived by her children, David Ijams, Becky Ijams, Keith Ijams; brother, Ray Irby; sister, Joyce Reid; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Will, Joseph; and two great grandchildren, Emma and Tegan. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 16 until service begins at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to AGAPE.
