Willie Katherine Whitten, 91, "Family Matriarch" passed away on, Wednesday, August 17, 2016. She was the mother of 11 children, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was one of 7 children and leaves behind 4 siblings. Mrs. Whitten is preceded in death by her husband, William Whitten and 5 children: Kenneth, Nora, Melvin, George and Doyle. She leaves behind 6 children: Harold, Carl, William, Donald, Dale and Rachel. Katherine loved her family with all her heart and soul. She was not only mother, grandmother and sibling she was our best friend in whom we could call on anytime. We will cherish her memory forever. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations are made to: Liberty Baptist Church 4486 County Road 100, Carrollton, MS 38917. Visitation will be from 12:30- to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 20 at Forest Hill South with service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
