Obituary

Sadowski, Kathryn Monypeny was born June 17, 1930 in Nashville, TN and passed away in Memphis May 14, 2012, 81 years young. A giving and loving daughter, mother, wife and friend, Kathryn is now at peace. She possessed a vibrant personality and a gentle and giving heart. Her generosity to all who had the pleasure in sharing her life will forever be remembered. Her laughter and smile were contagious and she held on her sense of humor to the end despite many challenges. She was active in her church and many social organizations including the Women''s Exchange of Memphis and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Kathryn was preceded in death by her father Lt. James Stark Warner, her mother and stepfather Louise McClellan Murray and David Pope Murray of Jackson, TN and her first husband Kent Brooks Monypeny, Jr. She is survived by her next love and husband of 31 years Emil J. Sadowski, her sons Kent Brooks Monypeny (Laurie) and David Murray Monypeny (Laura) and her grandchildren Thomas and Theresa Monypeny, and Virginia M. Gault (David) all of Memphis. She also leaves step children Robert Sadowski (Becky) , John Sadowski (Teresa), Terri Sadowski McCord (Larry) and 6 living step grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. James Church, 461 South Prescott. Interment will be Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Hollywood Cemetery in Jackson, TN following a private visitation for family and close friends at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home starting at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital, St. James Church or a charity of the donor''s choice.
