Kaye Todd Hearon, age 83, of Memphis, passed away on March 14, 2022. She was born on July 4, 1938, in Memphis, TN to the late William John Todd and Dorothy Lynn Todd.
Kaye grew up in Millington, TN where her family was a member of West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Millington Central High School in 1957. Kaye began working at McKesson & Robbins where she met her future husband, Harry. Kaye went on to pursue a career as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. While at Eastern Airlines, she was based in Chicago, IL but had the opportunity to travel all over the world. Kaye loved visiting new places and meeting new people while documenting her travels as she went. After her time at Eastern, Kaye and Harry got married in Birmingham, AL where they resided for a few years before moving back to Memphis, TN. Kaye was a devoted wife and mother as she was very active in her children's activities. She spent time as cheerleading sponsor and PTA president all while making dance costumes for her girls.
In addition to her parents, Kaye was preceded in death by her sisters, Jacqueline Todd, and Deborah Douglas.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harry R. Hearon, her siblings Carol Todd, Vivian Todd, Janet Burns and William John Todd Jr. of Mississippi. Her children, Kim Peel (John) of Hendersonville, TN, Shelia Renzulli (Michael) of Dana Point, CA, Barbara Hearon of Memphis, TN, and Todd Hearon (Christie) of Oakland, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Haley Peel of Nashville, TN, Robert Peel (Mariah) of Nashville, TN, Emily Carrasquilla (Juan) of Austin, TX, Kristen LaVigne (Philip) of Atlanta, GA, Dalton Dulin of Memphis, TN, and Victoria Renzulli of Dana Point, CA, and her great grandchildren Ada Katherine Peel of Nashville, TN and William Rhodes LaVigne of Atlanta, GA.
Kaye loved participating in social events, especially for The Grande Crew of Sphinx of Carnival Memphis where she was the Queen in 2005. She enjoyed nothing more than being outside, gardening and simply spending time with her family. Kaye met no stranger as she could light up a room by her presence.
She will be remembered by her family and friends for her loving and caring nature. Her playful personality and love for life brought smiles and laughter to many.
Visitation will be Monday, March 21 at 1 PM at Forest Hill Funeral Home with the Funeral service following at 2 PM.
