Obituary

Kenneth Brigham, 87, of Memphis, Tennessee, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2022.

Kenneth was born in 1935 to Hurley and Eva Brigham in Memphis. After graduating from Southside High School, he went on to study Business Administration at Memphis State University. With great pride, he enlisted in the Navy, with a few years active duty followed by 40 years of reserve service. It was also during this time that he met and fell in love with Sandra Tackett while attending Central Baptist Church, where both have faithfully served together at the church and school since 1964. After several different teaching and administrative jobs, Kenneth settled in for the rest of his career as the Finance Director at the Salvation Army in Memphis. Kenneth and Sandra would go on to have three children, Kendra, Keith, and Josh.

On a personal note, Kenneth was a wonderful and devoted father, husband, and loyal friend. He had an adventurous spirit, always willing to try new foods, travel to new places, and meet new people. His greatest joy was his involvement in his children and grandchildren's lives, whether sports, academics, or other interests. When he and Sandra weren't jumping in the car to see the kids in Florida, he could be found at an antique store discovering the next bell or book for the family collection. Kenneth spent his later days looking forward to his morning walks and Chick-Fil-A breakfasts with his best friends.

Kenneth was predeceased by his father Hurley, mother Eva, sister Elaine, and brother Michael. He is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Kendra (Ken), sons Keith (Donna) and Josh (Kali), seven grandchildren (Luke, Shelby, Alexis, Regan, Mia, Braeden, and Madelyn), and one great-grandchild (Nicolas).

Family and friends are invited to join the Brigham family on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, for Kenneth's celebration of life service at Central Baptist Church on 5470 Raleigh LaGrange Road in Memphis, Tennessee. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the celebration service starting at 11 a.m. Graveside service to follow.
