IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Ray
Burchum
August 3, 1940 – February 11, 2024
Kenneth Ray Burchum, Sr., 83, went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2024.
Kenneth was a loving, family man. The love that he had and affectionately shown for his wife, Mary Frances, was unwavering. They married in August of 1959. To this union, three beautiful children were born and raised. This was the foundation of his life. His other babies were his cats, which lined up in the driveway when he made it home and patiently waited for him to get out of his truck.
Kenneth was a faithful and very optimistic man. He dedicated time and enjoyed helping out at church. He never met a stranger and always wore an illuminating smile. Kenneth was a true workaholic. Having being self employed, which is a task within itself, he still managed to find time for his hobbies. His first hobby was discovered at such a young age. Music caught and had his attention, Blues and Jazz in particular. He loved it so much that he would get into trouble by listening after hours. He was caught by his mama several times listening to the blues with the radio under his pillow. This is when his love for the blues and jazz really began. He also enjoyed raising his honeybees, which he called "his girls". Kenneth loved his "Big Boy Toys", which included a bulldozer, bobcat, trackhoe and so much more. Which is no surprise, hence the trucking business.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50+ years, Mary Frances McCalman Burchum; one son, Kenneth Ray Burchum, Jr.; one great grandchild, Jeffrey Alan; and two sisters, Laura Jane Kirk and Edna Leverne Taylor.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Mark) Ingram and Stacy (Phillip) Hickey; six grandchildren, Grace Marie (Michael) Swanzy, Gregory Allen (Andrea) Powell, Jr., Victoria Lynn (Samuel) Cox, Stacie Renee' (Jacob) Gregory, Joseph Fletcher (Cameo) Ingram, and Taylor Ray Burchum; 17 great grandchildren, Devanie Marie, Abigail Lynn, Imogen Lillian, Cullen Andrew, Peyton Jeremiah, Benjamin Preston, Brandon Parker, Skyla Felicity, Layla Renee', Isabella Faith, Stella Reese, Carlie Ray, Natalie Alyse, Tarah Grace, Abel Gauge, Eden Reign, and Killian Caprice; and one sister, Alice Faye Baris.
