Kenneth G. Thompson, 84, of Memphis, TN, passed away on March 6, 2015, the son of Jacob and Delphia Dunning Thompson who was born in Chappell, Nebraska on March 4, 1931. He was a graduate of Ovid High School in Ovid, Colorado. As a young man he saw the need to serve and to protect his country, so he volunteered and joined the US Navy. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Commander. He later moved to Memphis, TN. Mr. Thompson was a member of the VFW and was a truly kind, nice gentleman with a humble spirit. He enjoyed fast cars and collecting "frogs". He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Vaughn Thompson. He leaves behind to cherish very fond memories of him, a host of loved ones and friends, and his caregivers, Lashay Williams and David Mills. Visitation will be 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday, March 19 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:45 a.m. at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
