Larry Wayne
Addison
Mar 11, 1954 — May 16, 2020
Memphis
Larry Wayne Addison, Sr. , age 66, husband of Susan F. Addison, met Jesus face-to-face on Saturday morning, May 16, 2020. He transitioned peacefully from his earthly life at his home in Cordova, Tennessee, to his eternal life in Heaven with Jesus.
Larry was born on March 11, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee the middle child of Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Addison. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1972. He married the love of his life, Susan Fulghum Addison, on August 25, 1979.
After learning about the milk distribution business from his father, Larry began his own distributorship for Dean Foods, Larry W. Addison and Sons. He later sold his business, and went to work for D. Canale Beverages as their Warehouse Manager. After being with D. Canale for 18 years, he acquired and operated a Bread Distributorship with Flowers Bakery, and successfully ran this business for approximately 8 years.
A diagnosis of lung cancer forced his early retirement. During his retirement, he was pronounced in remission, and was blessed to be able to spend more time with the people and things he was most passionate about: travel with his beloved wife; time with family and friends; and playing golf, as often as possible. Larry was known as a man who always worked hard and played hard, and was also known for his very keen wit. He had a very strong work ethic and was respected for his integrity, dedication and dependability.
Larry is survived by his wife of almost 41 yrs., Susan F. Addison of Cordova, TN; two sons, Damon (Kim) of Humboldt, TN; Larry, Jr. (Liz) of Cordova, TN; and a daughter, Ami of Southaven, MS; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Lauren, Hunter, Brody, Ainsley, Blakely and Chaley; one brother, Terry Addison (Tina) of Clarksville, TN; two sisters, Patricia Myers of Cordova, TN and Brenda Spicer (Joe) of Union City, TN. Larry was pre-deceased by his parents, John Quitman "Papa" and Martha Roberts "Honey" Addison and a brother, Gary D. Addison (Denise).
