Larry William Anderson, 72, of Memphis, TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 11:55 p.m. after a long battle with cancer.

Born on December 6, 1945 in Memphis, TN, Larry helped his father in the family business, Andy's Auto Upholstery. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. Upon completing service to his country, Mr. Anderson returned to Memphis and became a steamfitter, joining Steamfitters Local Union #614 where he served for the remainder of his professional career.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Peggy (Murdock) Anderson; his parents, William and Emma Anderson; his brothers, David and Gerald Anderson; and his sister, Linda Goddard. He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Marsh and her husband, Matt, of Lakeland, TN; his grandchildren, Caroline, Hallie and Annsley Marsh; his brothers Fred and Roger (Debbie) Anderson; sisters Carol (Bud) Gee and Jane Diel; and dozens of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Anderson is a longtime member of both Oakhaven Baptist Church and East Memphis Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2-4 pm. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at 2pm with interment to follow all of will held at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Rd., Memphis, TN 38133. (901) 382-1000.
