It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Clinton Dorris, who departed this life on November 17, 2025, in Olive Branch, MS. Born on October 6, 1941, Larry was the beloved husband of Karyln Huetson Dorris for 43 years and a beloved father to Larry Dorris, Jr (Becky) of Memphis, TN, Robin Dorris of Brownsville, TN, Scott Caldwell (Wendy) of Southaven, MS, and Kelly Caldwell (Heather) of Covington, TN. Larry also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his son Phillip Dorris and his daughter Dana Dorris.

Larry was born in Oxford, MS and later moved to Memphis, TN working for Celotex, St. Francis Hospital, and the VA Medical Center, from which he retired. He was an active member of Grace Church for over 40 years. Larry and Karlyn made their home in Nesbit, MS for 22 years until recently moving to Silver Creek Senior Living Facility in Olive Branch, MS, where Larry passed peacefully surrounded by family.

Larry was an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing basketball, traveling, camping, and later in life developed a love for taking cruises throughout Mexico and the Bahamas. He most recently discovered a passion for penny poker, which he often played with his friends at Silver Creek.

Larry was known for his story telling, generosity, sense of humor, and compassion. He cherished time spent with family and friends, and especially found great enjoyment in spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A service to honor and celebrate Larry's life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Forest Hill Funeral Home, 1661 Elvis Presley Blvd, Memphis, TN. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with the service immediately following. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery South, 2545 E Holmes Rd, Memphis, TN, with a family reception following at Silver Creek Senior Living Facility. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Larry are invited to attend and share their memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, in memory of Larry Dorris.
