Laura Eugenia (Maddux) Harden, 81, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, January 3, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Mark H. Harden, and her first husband, Jerry L. Maddux. Laura (Jeanie Maddux) has 3 children: Teresa Shattuck, Laura Maddux Curtis (Mark) and John Maddux ( Diane). She leaves 6 grandchildren: Matthew Browning, Lauren Browning, Brynn Curtis, Bryan Curtis, Jessica Clayton and Emily Maddux. She also has 5 great grandchildren. She cherished the many years of service in her church life. Jeanie was deeply involved with the youth of Colonial Hills during the 70's and 80's. She brought many young adults to accept Jesus as their Savior. She was an avid Sunday school teacher and was involved with the youth choir for many years. After moving to Nesbit, she was a member of Nesbit First Baptist Church. She would talk about her Sunday School class and how much they meant to her. Laura enjoyed watching her grandkids play ball and teaching several how to sew. She loved gardening with her best friend Betty, and fishing with anyone who would go. (cane pole only). She will be missed by so many that she touched throughout her 81 years of life.
