Laura Henderson was born September 8, 1932 in Byhalia, Mississippi to the late Thomas Henderson and Emma Albright. Laura departed this life on June 26, 2025. She attended school in Byhalia, Mississippi. She married Isaac Taylor and they had four children.

Laura gave her life to Christ at an early age. She later joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a faithful member for over 40 years, until her health prevented her from attending church regularly. Laura also worked at the University of Memphis for over 25 years; she retired to help take care of her mother, Emma Thomas.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Emma Albright; daughter, Sallie Taylor Scott; and son, Willie Taylor, Sr.

Laura leaves to cherish her memory, son Isaac Taylor Sr.; and daughter Dorothy T. Holland (L. Bob Holland);she also leaves Melanie Fifer her adoptive daughter, of Memphis, TN.; grandchildren and great grand - children from various parts of the USA; two sisters, Margie Johnson of Boston, MA and Unita Arthur of Oklahoma City; and two brothers Henry Henderson and Oscar Henderson of Memphis, TN. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
