Lawanda Box, 82, of Oakland, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019.  Mrs. Box was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Box; parents, Robert and Rosa Benjamin; and sisters, Mildred Morris and Betty Mills.  She is survived by her daughters: Susan Edwards(David) of Memphis, TN, Cindy Horne (Jerry) of Memphis, TN, Robin Howell (John Wayne) of Memphis, TN, and Holly Box (Walter) of Oakland, MS; grandchildren: Sarah Smith, Jacob Edwards, Aaron Horne, Jessica Horne, Lesily Howell, Crystal Howell, Caitlyn Box, Sean Cupit, Ruby Box, and Bobby Townsend; and great-grandchildren: Colin Smith, Jedidiah Edwards, Brianna Howell, Andrea Howell, Johnny Wayne Howell, and Kyleigh King.  The family will receive friends for a period of visitation on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.  All services and interment will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, East.  The family would like to give a special thank you to the gentlemen who are serving as pall bearers for Mrs. Box:  Jacob Edwards, Aaron Horne, Rick Harris, Walter Parker, Saylor Warren, and Bobby Townsend.
