Lawrence "Larry" McCord, of Memphis, TN, passed away on August 18, 2022 at the age of 65, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Orlando, FL on August 9, 1957 and moved to Memphis as a child. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1975. From there, he went on to work at Bryce Corporation/Cyber Graphics for nearly 45 years. He loved watching the Memphis Tigers' and Florida Gators' football and basketball games. Among family and friends, he was known as "The King of Memphis" and for his Elvis version of the "Happy Birthday" song. Those who knew him will never forget the laughter and good times that he brought to their lives.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Howard Edgar McCord, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Terry McCord, of Memphis, TN; his two daughters, Elizabeth Mary McCord and Julia Anne McCord, of Memphis, TN; his mother, Melba McCord, of Cordova, TN; his sister, Julie (Steve) Carkeet, of Bartlett, TN; and his brother, Howard McCord of Lake Village, AR.
A celebration of life service will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home, Memphis, TN at 2 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
