Leah Jean Weems, 95 of Atoka, passed away March 18, 2023.

She is survived by her daughter, Mittie Ann Barrett (Wayne) of Southaven; son, Freeman J. Weems, III (Wegie) of Atoka; sister, Robbie F. Tharpe of Atoka; grandchildren, Emily Watson (Josh), Katie Miller (Robbie), Freeman Shane Weems (Qing), and Bethany Walters; and great grandchildren, Ashley Langston (Jacob), Zachary Thornton, Dylan Thornton, Dorian Weems, Edward Weems, Noah Walters, Ethan Watson, Eli Watson, Leah Miller, and Savannah Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Weems; and parents, Henry Tharpe and Mittie Bennett.

Jean, was her name to family and friends and "Nana" to the grandchildren. She was happily married to Ted for over 60 years before his passing. Her heart belonged to Jesus Christ first, and then her loving family. Jean was a gifted gardener and homemaker.
