Lee Bennett died on December 24, 2017. He was born in Marietta, MS and lived 93 years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He married his sweetheart, Mildred Knight, on December 19, 1946. He retired from TVA and Tri-State Armature. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Bennett; his sisters, Surue McCoy and Avinelle Savage; brother Clyde Bennett; and a grandson, David Lee Bennett, Jr. Lee is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mildred; a son, David Bennett (Susan); two grandchildren, Philip Bennett (Lisa) and John Bennett (Rachel); and nine great-grandchildren. Lee was a member of Germantown Baptist Church and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a faithful husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and a true friend. He was always a positive person and dearly loved his family. Visitation for Mr. Bennett will be held at 10:00 Friday, December 29, 2017 at Germantown Baptist Church, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 Friday.
