Lena Faye Flippin Creswell, 87, was born in Walters, Oklahoma, April 13, 1929 to Ray and Doris(Mullins) Flippin. She grew up living on a farm outside Randelette, OK where she went to the primary grades and graduated from Union Valley High School in Comanche County Oklahoma. After high school, she attended business school in Lawton, OK, where L.B. worked for L.H. Ensley Firestone as a manager and where she kept the books. She and L.B. later moved to Altus, OK, where as a dedicated wife, continued to assist and back her husband in business as an accountant. She was a dedicated wife and mother and as L.B.''s job relocated the family from OK to Texas, Lena worked at Denton State School in Denton, Texas. In 1965 the family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where she worked for Kemmons Wilson and Holiday Inn Corporation in products and supply. Later in life, while in Memphis, she and L.B. bought a business where again she took charge of bookkeeping and assisted with the business. After L.B. retired due to health purposes, they sold the business she established and L.B. owned and operated Antiques of Southaven for 15 years and later after L.B.''s departure from this life, Lena again used her business background to continue to sell antiques and helped at the Southaven Antiques Mall. Lena was a strong Christian woman and demonstrated that through her dedication to her husband, children, and extended family. She attended First Baptist Church - Nesbit, MS. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loyal B. Creswell; two brothers: Billy Flippin and Glen Flippin; and her grandson, Shawn Butrum. She is survived by her son, L. Ray Creswell and daughter-in-law, Karen of Buda, TX; granddaughter Courtney Lynn Rochelle, husband Chris; great-grandchildren: Lillian Kendall, Micah Loyal, and Levi Sattler of Wake Forest, NC; granddaughter, Kristin Rae Shapiro, Husband Brandon; great-grandchild, Sydney Roma of Austin, TX - daughter Lynetta(Lynn) C. Butrum of Memphis, TN; granddaughter-in-law Jackie Butrum-Sullivan and her husband Robert and their children Presleigh and Griffin Sullivan and great-grandchild Jackson Creswell Butrum of Hernando, MS, along with life long friends. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm Thursday May 26, 2016 with a funeral service to follow at 2:00. All services and interment will be held at Forest Hill, South on Holmes Rd. The family requests that donations be made to St. Jude or LeBonheur Children''s Hospitals in lieu of flowers.
