Leo J . Hartweck passed away at the age of 92 on Monday, July 5 th , 2021, after a battle with cancer.
Leo was born in Evansville, Indiana on October 19 th , 1928, and married the love of his life , Dot, on August 30, 1948. He was an avid gardener and love d being outside and working in his yard. He took up the game of golf when he was 62 and l oved it, playing whenever he got a chance until his sight failed him. Leo loved being with his family and was noted for being a loving husband , father, and grandfather.
Leo is preceded in death by his mother and father, Clara and Henry Hartweck , seven of his siblings, Leonard, Herman, Lawrence, Carl, Tony, Boots, and Clara Ann, as well as his grandson s, Raymond Carpenter and John Oxner.
He leaves behind his wife of 72 years , Dorothy "Dot" Hartweck ; his daughter, Donna Oxner (Fred) ; his son, James "Jim" Hartweck ; granddaughter s , Helen Renee Minatra (Barry) , Debbie Brooks (Hope),Donna Lefebvre (Tony) ; a grandson Brian Oxner (Paulette); and ten great grandchildren: Conner and Collin Carpenter, John Michael and Matthew Minatra , Berry and Halley Brooks, Cynth ia Pepper (Nick), Da nielle Lefebvre, Micah Oxner, Asa Latham (Hannah); and a great - great grandson, Henry Pepper.
He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 3863 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN. Visitation for Mr. Hartweck will be at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery - East Gardens.
