Leona Joan Cash, born December 12, 1938, passed peacefully into eternity at the age of 82 on June 25, 2021.  Known as Joann to her family and friends, she is survived by her daughters, Anita Kay Rogers (Tommy) of Oakland, TN and Mary Louise Thompson (Johnny) of Somerville, TN, her sister Shirley Agee of Middleton, TN, and brother Lonnie Ware (Sandra) of Batesville, MS, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her son James Walker Cash and husband Howard Ray Cash, 3  sisters, Karen Hudson, Lottie Burks, Fair Mae Darby, five brothers, David Ware, Waverly Ware, Jesse Wayne Ware, JW Ware, and Ed Ware.   In the early 70's, she worked at Mid-South Christina Nursing Home and as a cook on a river barge.  She enjoyed cooking, singing, gardening, and spending time with her family.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN, 38133 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10:00 am.
