Obituary

Leona Dieterlen, 93, of Quito/Millington, stepped into Heaven on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She died of complications of  a long time battle of Diabetes. Leona was born on December 6, 1929 in Fort Cobb, OK to Johnny Carson and Savilla Robinson. She was a childhood resident of Guntown, MS and parts of AR and later moved to Memphis during WWII.

Leona met and married the love of her life, Carl Dieterlen, a career USN sailor, in 1953 in Memphis and married in Hernando, MS. She was one of 9 children, 8 of which proceeded her, 6 as infants.

She was also proceeded by  a son, Gary Dieterlen, 2 Daughter in laws, Mardite Keltner Dieterlen and Connie Kaneer Dieterlen, and on son in law, Jim Lowe.

She is survived by  her husband of 70 years, Carl Dieterlen,  5 Children:
Diana Lowe Brown (Steve) of Granbury, TX
Yvonna Dieterlen  Clowes (Ricky)
Dale Dieterlen
Alan Dieterlen ( Rosemary)
Joan Dieterlen Wells (Kevin) all of Quito.
22 Grandchildren, 61 Great-grandchildren, 8 Great- Great -grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews she help raise.

Leona loved the Lord, her family, traveling, sewing and quilting.

There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, November  18th at Fellowship Baptist Church, Quito where she attended  and was the oldest member. Service will be officiated by Pastor Tommy McClain at 2 pm.

In lieu of Flowers, a children's research  of your choice.

Interment will be Monday, November  20th at Forest Hill South at 11 am.
