Leonard Eugene Jones Sr, of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully at Foxbridge Assisted Living in Memphis, on July 25, 2014. He was 78. Born in Memphis June 21st 1936, he attended Merrill and Gordon Elementary Schools and was a graduate of Humes High School - class of 1955. He played 1st Chair Clarinet in the High School Band. He served in the Navy for nine years and the National Guard for over 25 years. He was retired from Cooper Tire Company.

Leonard was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Jo Ann Savage Jones; his daughter, Gracie Mattocks; and his brother, Forrest Robert Jones. He is survived by his son, Leonard Eugene Jones Jr (Peggy) of Memphis; his brother, Gordon Lee Jones (Jean) of Lakeland, TN; and step-mother, Pauline Jones of Piperton, TN. He also leaves behind five step -brothers and sisters; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His parents were Forrest Rebel Jones and Helen Bess Hartman.

Funeral Arrangements: Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown - Visitation: Sunday, 27th, 5:00-7:00 pm. Graveside service: Monday, 28th, 10:00 am. The family requests any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital in Memphis.
