Leslie Eugene Vanlandingham, 76, of Cookeville, TN passed away on Wednesday, May 7 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10 at Forest Hill South with visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Vanlandingham was born February 5, 1938 to the late Grace and James Henry Vanlandingham. He retired after working 35 years for Sheet Metal Local #4. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Buddy Vanlandingham; sisters: Juanita Taylor, Adele Furguson; nephews, Keith Dodge and Ronnie Furguson. Mr. Vanlandingham is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rita Vanlandingham; son, Mark Vanlandingham and daughter-in-law, Amy Vanlandingham of Jackson, MO; daughter and son in-law, Kim and Dr. Tim Powell of Cookeville, TN; Granddaughters, Brooke and Kendall Powell, Amy Rose Vanlandingham and Alexis Ruch; brother and sister in-law, Henry and Peggy Vanlandingham; nieces and nephews, Paula and Jim Graves, Yavonne Vanlandingham, Theresa Brookshire, Billy and Mary Vanlandingham and Diane Dodge.
