Walls - Lester Currie Simpson, 84, passed peacefully from this life to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was a devoted husband, daddy and the greatest Papa. Mr. Simpson leaves behind his devoted wife of 66 years, Billie Simpson. Their 67th wedding anniversary would have been on November 23, 2013. He is survived by two daughters, Jeri Simpson and Marcia Moyt (Lonnie); two grandchildren, Kristi Holland (Tim) and Sean Westmoreland; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Rollins, (Chris), Currie, Maddie and McKenzie Holland and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace and one brother, Mickey Simpson (Orma), and many friends and loved ones. Mr. Simpson was a Christian man, loving, generous, smart and funny. He loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed entertaining and having people at his home. Mr. Simpson retired from First Tennessee Bank after 32 years where he was the chief engineer and bank officer. In 1979, he founded National Bank Builders of Walls, MS. He was an engineer, designer, inventor and CEO of the company until he retired in 2001. Mr. Simpson will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 15 at Forest Hill South Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home with interment to follow in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery.
