Obituary

Lestle Edwin Cooper, Jr., 79, passed away on August14, 2020 at Baptist Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was a remarkably kind and loving man. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 27 years, Doris Clark Cooper, a son, David Hammons of Horn Lake, MS, daughter Kimberley Laubach (Mike) of Las Vegas, Nevada, sisters Cheryl Cooper of Bartlett and Leimome Cheeks of Memphis. He is also survived by four grandsons, Justin and Joshua Hammons of Horn Lake, MS, and Christopher Gilmore and Spencer Laubach of Las Vegas, NV. Born on July 4, 1941 in Louisville, KY, Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Lestle E. Cooper, Sr. (Les) and Lillian Blansett Cooper. He graduated from Memphis Technical High School where he was Sr. Class President. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memphis State University (University of Memphis). Eddie was a lifelong learner with interests in many areas of art and music as well as scuba diving and skydiving. He was a gifted and talented photographer who shared Les and Ed Cooper Commercial Photography with his father for 40 years. The visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 18 at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN. The graveside service will also be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Walcott, AR.
