IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Thomas
Stepp
June 15, 1947 – December 24, 2025
Linda Stepp passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025. She was born on June 15,1947 to the late James and Margaret Thomas. She was 78.
Linda was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Wayland Stepp.
Linda was a warm and vibrant soul whose radiant smile and kind heart truly brightened every room she entered.
She spent her formative years camping, water skiing and roller skating. She graduated from Overton High School in 1965.
A dedicated professional, Linda served for 25 years as an Executive Administrative Assistant at the National Cotton Council of America. Her exceptional organizational skills, unwavering reliability, and gentle spirit made her a beloved colleague.
Linda's greatest joy was the deep, enduring love she shared with her husband of 25 years, Wayland Stepp. They first met at the Memphis Bop Club, where their shared passion for music and dance sparked a beautiful romance.
An avid animal lover at heart, Linda was a devoted cat mom to her cherished companions, Sunny and Cher. Her home overflowed with purrs, and unconditional love that only furry family members can bring.
Above all, Linda loved people deeply. She was a fast friend to everyone she met. Quick with a genuine smile, a kind word, or a listening ear. Her presence alone brought comfort, joy, and light to those around her.
Linda is survived by her loving sisters: Donna Springfield of Madisonville, TN; Jo Young of Littleton, CO; and niece April Bennard of Vonore, TN.
A funeral service will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home East (2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133) on December 31, 2025, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the service at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to the ASPCA (aspca.org) in honor of Linda's lifelong compassion for animals.
Linda's legacy of kindness, and boundless love for people and creatures alike will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the beautiful light she brought into the world.
