Lloyd Windham Dowdy, 85, passed away at his home in Millington, TN on March 2, 2019.  Mr. Dowdy was a United States Air Force Veteran, a member of Broadmore Baptist Church in Memphis, and a huge University of Memphis Basketball fan.  He was also a member the National Autumn Leaf Collecting Club, as well as the Aladdin Knights.  Mr. Dowdy was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jasmine M. Dowdy; and one sister, Mabel Waggens.  Left to honor and cherish his memory are his son, Chris (Carol) Dowdy; friend, Pat Faulkner of St Louis, MO; and a special "daughter" caregiver, Paula Ann Harper of Millington, TN.  He was blessed with five grandchildren:  Chris L. Dowdy, Jr., Cade Monat, Johnathon Burkhardt, Shaun Glessing and Hunter Johnson; and one great grandchild, Hope Nicole Glessing.  Visitation with his family will be on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 12:30-2:00 pm, with his service following at 2:00 pm at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East on Whitten Rd.
