Obituary

Lois M. Daniels, age 92, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett. She has resided at Ave Maria Assisted Living in Bartlett, TN for the past 3 years. Mrs. Daniels was born in Ruleville, MS to Allen and Gemell Bland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Louis D. Daniels, and her great-grandson, Michael McGuire.

As a military wife, she and her family moved across the United States on eight assignments. She was a member of the Navy Officer's Wives Club and served as Treasurer for the U.S.S. Forrestal Wives Club. Lois was a member of the Optimist Wives Club of Raleigh and worked retail at Goldsmiths for 17 years.

Mrs. Daniels was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene where she served on the Welcoming Committee, acted as the Agape Class Flower Fund Treasurer, and was a prayer warrior on the prayer line. She and her husband help establish the annual seniors Thanksgiving dinner. She assisted in providing dinners to others during times of illness or grief. Lois and her husband received the Nazarene Distinguished Service Award in 2008.

Lois continued to be a prayer warrior at Ave Marie. She enjoyed making jewelry, reading, visiting and praying with other residents. She loved her family, her friends, and her church.

She is survived by two sisters, Eloise Williams and Helen Edge and a brother, Louis Bland all who reside in Batesville, MS. In addition, she is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Michael Ford of Cordova, TN, Sandra and Mark Sissom of Bartlett, TN, Debra Turner of Jackson, TN, Linda Hodges of Walnut, MS and Kim and Alan Wood of Middleton, TN. She also leaves 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held Monday January 11, 2021 at 2pm at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN.
