Lois Mae Chaffin Wallis 87 passed away peacefully, October 1, 2025, surround by her loving family at her home in Southaven, Mississippi.
She was born June 10,1938, to the late Dalton and Lillie Chaffin in Booneville Mississippi.
As a member of First Baptist Church of Southaven, she enjoyed the blanket ministry, Sunday School class and other actives with the church family she loved.
A gifted seamstress for her family and friends, she also had a passion for reading, writing poetry and songs, as well as flower gardening. She enjoyed fishing trips with her husband and family. She also had a dog grooming business for 20 years. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles Wallis; sisters, Joyce Smith and Willadine Elders; brother, Kenneth Chaffin; and son-in-Law, Leslie Worsham.
She is survived by her daughters, Joan Albright (Larry), Judy Worsham, and Janet Carr (Doug).
Lois was blessed with 6 grandsons; John Albright (Sommer), Carey Worsham (Crystal), Gavin Albright (Danielle), Andrew Carr, Alex Carr (Emily), Dylan Wallis (Amber); also 11 great grandchildren, Taylor Albright, John Paul Albright (Addison), Gabriel and Eli Albright, Cadence, Carey, Jr., Clair Worsham, Wyatt Carr, Rayne Stoddard, Lakelyn Wallis and soon to arrive Emersyn Mae Wallis.
Her family and friends will miss her dearly. She touched so many lives with her spirit of compassion and love for her family, friends, church members, and even strangers. Our greatest comfort is knowing she is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church-Southaven, 8888 US-51, Southaven, MS 38671, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, with visitation from12:30-1:00pm, funeral services at 1:00pm, and a graveside service to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park-South.
