Lonnie James McKenzie, 85, passed away in Southaven, MS on January 21, 2020.  He was a retired Firefighter from the City of Memphis Fire Department and a long time member of the Desoto and Northwest Shrine Club, and the Olive Branch Motor Corp.  He dedicated his life to helping children thru the Shriner's Hospital. Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by his wife, Era McKenzie and daughter, Beverly Hoover.

Left to honor and cherish his memory is his daughter, Sandy Rainwater and her husband, Perry of Southaven, MS.  Mr. McKenzie had been blessed with five grandchildren, Shana Durdin, Kevin Rainwater, David Rainwater, Brittany Hoover and Brad Hoover, also four great grandchildren, Carly McBride, Jack McBride, Ashlynn Rainwater and Owen Rainwater.  There will be a graveside service on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 10:00 am at Forest Hill Funeral Home, Cemetery and Memorial Park, South on Holmes Road.

His family requests any memorial donations be made to the Desoto Shrine Club.
