LORENE YORK BRIGANCE, 91, passed away March 26, 2014 in Grapevine, TX. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. with service beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment following. Lorene was born in Humboldt, TN to Bryan and Ethel York on February 25, 1923. She graduated from Peabody High School in Trenton, TN. She married Benjamin F. Brigance on March 30,1946 and raised a family in Memphis, TN, where she worked at Methodist Hospital and attended Jackson Avenue Methodist Church. After retiring from Methodist Hospital, Lorene spent her retirement years in Barrettville, TN and attended Bolton United Methodist Church. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Ethel; a sister, Betty Cathey; her husband, Ben, and a daughter, Gail Little. Lorene is survived by her brother, Jerry York of Germantown; two daughters, Sandra Irby of Jackson, MS and Celine Mitchell of Trophy Club, TX; two step-children, Jerry Brigance of Iuka, MS and Jean Williams of Seymour, TN; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
