Lorene Durham Brown, 93, of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 19, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy Allen, husbands S.G. Durham and Henry Brown, daughters Patsy Durham and Kathy Simmons, granddaughter Laurie Ann Kemp, brothers Carroll, Vaden, Earnest, Billy, Huey, and Joe Allen and a sister Barbara Boyette, as well as a son in law Terry Gaut. She leaves behind in love her two daughters, Betty C. Kemp of Memphis, TN and Peggy Gaut of Southaven, MS, a son in law Gerald Simmons of Brighton, TN, a sister, Mary Salassi of Rogers Springs, TN, 10 grandchildren John Kemp (Stephanie), Paul Kemp (Tonia), Michael Kemp, Jason Gaut, Tracey Woodruff (Michael), Samantha Gaut, Christopher Simmons, Tammy Simmons, Samuel Simmons (Stacy), and Amanda Henry (Jimmy), 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as countless cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mrs. Brown was a jack of all trades but worked primarily as a Holiday Press Collator Operator. She married S.G. Durham in 1948 in Tippah County MS. They were married for 30 years until his passing in 1978. In 1990 she married Henry T. Brown in Memphis, TN and they were married for 10 years until his passing in 2000. Some of Lorene's interests included working in her garden and watching her soap operas, but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lorene will forever be in our hearts, and we will miss her more than words can express.
