Lorine Elizabeth Husted, 90, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2014. She was a lifelong Memphian and a faithful member of Leawood East Baptist Church, where she was affectionately known as "Cool Grandma". She retired from the City of Memphis Park Commission, where she held the distinction of being the first female amusement park manager in the United States. She also managed the concession services at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium until her retirement. In this capacity she had the pleasure of employing many young people as concession workers, giving them their first work opportunity. She was an avid hobbyist who served as President of the Memphis Ceramic Association for many years, where she helped raise money for the Al Chymia Hospital transportation fund. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Husted, a daughter, Linda Husted, and her son Woody Husted. She is survived by her two daughters, Katie Barrett and Patti Phelps (Lloyd), five grandchildren, Darci Barrett, Chrissy Jacks-Barrett (Jean), Alan Phelps (Leanne), Jennifer Mack (Geoff), and Andy Phelps (Deanna), and four great-grandchildren, Cara, Aiden, Lakelyn, and Grayson. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 6 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with family receiving friends an hour prior. Interment will follow in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
