Obituary

Lotus M. Lantrip, 95, passed away,  Sunday, September 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Theo Lantrip. She is survived by her son, Frankie Lantrip (Jeannie); her daughter, Peggy Hanna; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was born on a dirt farm, one of ten children in Pontotoc, MS. She said she was 12 or 13 years old before they had the first house with electricity. During WWII, she went to New York and worked at Wright Airplane Factory making aircraft for the war. In the early 50's they moved to Memphis, where she worked for 36 years at Hunter Fan. She loved her gardening, cooking, canning and her twenty-seven grand, great and great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather to share memories 5-7 pm, Thursday at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park. Another gathering will be 11:00 am – 11:30 am, Saturday, with services at 11:30 am, at Nowell Funeral Home, 96 S. Main St, Pontotoc, MS  38863
