Louie Harris Nelson JR, 75 ,resident of Arlington Tennessee died June 5, 2021.

Louie is survived by his wife of 41 years Gwen Nelson. His children James Nelson of Arlington ,Jeffrey Nelson of Arlington,

Amanda(Edwin)Cornwell of Arlington, a nephew Thomas Howell(Kalee) of Bartlett, nine grandchildren and three great nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Louie Senior and Ruth(Trotter) Nelson, his sister Charlene (Nelson) Holley, grandson Ryan Nelson and nephew Ricky Howell

Louie was born September 5, 1945 in Memphis Tennessee. He graduated from Tech High School Class of 1964. He joined the Army National Guard in the winter of 1964. In the fall of 1965 he  transferred to the Army Reserve and served until 1970. He also served in the Coast Guard Reserve until 1973. He  joined the Memphis Police Department in October 1969. After 25 years of service he retired as a lieutenant from Memphis police Department in April 1995. After two years of retirement he went back to work for MIC Burger King as Director of Safety and Security. He retired from MIC Burger King in 2016.

He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Seth Nelson, Ian Nelson, Noah Nelson, Luke Nelson, Jack Nelson, Garrett Cornwell, Madeline Cornwell, Cameron Cornwell and Abigail Cornwell and his great nieces Carlee Roberson, River Howell and Huntlee Howell along with a host of family and friends.
