Louis Thomas was born November 2, 1922 in Macon, Mississippi. Louis and his twin sister, Lois, were 2 of 13 children born to the late Willie and Myrtle Thomas.
Louis proudly served his country and enlisted in the United States Army in April of 1946. In May of 1947, he married the love of his life, Bernice Walker. They were blessed with three children, Ann, Linda, and Ronald. After serving his country, Louis worked for the Defense Depot until his retirement in the early 1990s.
Louis was a dedicated father and husband and was known for his love of animals and machines. On any given day, Louis could be found fixing something or feeding a stray.
Louis passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Bernice Walker Thomas and son, Captain Ronald Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Ann Marie Williams and Linda Thomas Catchings, one daughter-in-law, Cleo Thomas, two sisters, Mary Alice Carr (Martin) of Macon,
Mississippi, and Mildred Warren (Richard) of Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Thomas also leaves behind six grandchildren, Erica Dillard, Ashley Williams, Joy Henley (Rodrick), Jonathan Reid, Matthew Thomas, Marc Thomas, and three
great-grandsons, Joshua Reid, Kaleb Hodges, and Marcus Moore II.
Louis' legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched. All who knew him will forever cherish his love of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
