IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louise
Day
October 27, 1926 – October 17, 2023
Louise Day was born October 27, 1926 in Henderson County, Tennessee, to Ada and Atlas Adams. She died October 17, 2023 at Jordan River Health Campus, in Collierville, Tennessee. Louise is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years (Will Day), as well as 3 brothers (Raymond, Edmond, and Edward Adams), 1 sister (Dorothy Sue Maxwell) and an infant son (Kenneth Day). She is survived by her son Terry Day (wife Cheryle), her sister-in-law Becky Carawon (husband Bruce), 3 grandchildren: Janet Kincheloe (husband Joey), Lisa Wigginton (husband Ryan), and Philip Day (wife Kerri) and 10 great-grandchildren: Zoe, Sam, and Brielle Kincheloe; Hannah and Bryce Wigginton; and Leah, Kylie, Savannah, Hailey, and Lacey Day.
Louise was a faithful Christian for over 80 years. After getting married on June 11, 1949, Will and Louise settled in Memphis. Over their 70 years of marriage, they attended Gragg Ave., Getwell, and Germantown Churches of Christ. Louise was a Bible School teacher as well as an elder's wife. She frequently hosted visiting preachers, friends, and family in their home. She enjoyed cooking for others and taking care of children, especially her grandchildren. Louise was a stay-at-home mom while Terry was growing up. However, she later began working at Macon Road Church of Christ day care taking care of 2-and 3-year old children. Later in her life, she continued to help others. She and Will enjoyed working with a group of members at Germantown Church to help prepare the church bulletin each week. Louise was always wanting to be where other Christians were meeting to work and worship. "Mamaw" as she was known by her family, will be forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Although she will be missed here, we have confidence that she has been reunited with all the saints in heaven.
As Jesus said, "Be thou faithful until death, and I will give thee a crown of life." Rev. 2:10 Her faithful example is one we can all follow.
