Lucille Evelyn Solomon Williamson passed away on October 14, 2017. Her family will receive visitors at Forest Hill Funeral Home East on Friday, October 20, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017, with Elizabeth Dick officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery East.
Mrs. Williamson was born in Mohawk, TN, to John Crockett and Flora Mae Solomon on July 13, 1922. She married Harold Hobson Williamson on June 10, 1950, in Knoxville, TN. After completing Business College, she worked as a tailor''s assistant (Knoxville, TN), as a placement specialist with Family and Children''s Service (Charlotte, NC), as a secretary with Wells Fargo Armored Motor Service (Memphis, TN), and as an office assistant with Advertising Checking Bureau (Memphis, TN). In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and attending church functions.
Mrs. Williamson is preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, and by her two brothers, John Crockett Solomon, Jr. and Clyde Gleason Solomon. She is survived by her sister, Eva Ruth Solomon Melton (Oak Ridge, TN); her daughter, Susan Williamson Jenkins; her son, Steven Craig Williamson; her granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth (Molly) Williamson and Ashley Erin Williamson; her grandson, Benjamin Avery Jenkins; and several nieces and nephews.
Her bright smile and sharp wit will be missed by all who knew her. Any donations made in her name should be directed to First Presbyterian Church, MIFA, Methodist Alliance Hospice, or any charity of your choice.
