Rev. Luther A. Clark, Jr., 90, formerly of Memphis passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Jackson -Madison General Hospital of Jackson, TN. Rev. Clark worked with Weil Brothers Cotton until his call to Ministry in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp at the end of WWII. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lambuth College and Master of Divinity Degree from Vanderbilt University Divinity School. During his ministry he served in the Memphis Conference, Beech Bluff Circuit, Cayce /Mt. Zion, Bethany Parkway, Trenton First, Union Avenue, Humbolt First, Wesleyan Hills, Ripley First, and Capleville. In retirement, he served at New Bethel and also as bible study leader at Morningside Assisted Living in Jackson where he lived for the past 5 years. His parents, Luther A. (Sr.) and Martha Bell Clark, his sister, Florence and Uncle Thomas Oscar Clark preceded him in death. He leaves his wife of 69 years, Norma Jean Hill Clark; one brother, John Wiley Clark; four sons: Luther Allen Clark III (Sheila), Richard W. Clark (Susan), Paul B. Clark (Margaret) and Philip M Clark (Rona); 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family request that any memorials are sent to Reelfoot Rual Ministries. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. Thursday, December 21 at Capleville United Methodist Church, 4725 Riverdale Rd., Memphis, TN 38141. Service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
