Luther Leon Gardner, Jr., 67, went to be with The Lord, Friday, June 20, 2014. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon Rankin Gardner; his daughter, Angie Gardner; his son, Christopher Gardner; four grandchildren; three sisters, Retta Gardner, Anne Gardner, Audrey Harvey; and his brother, Robert Parker Gardner. Luther was a member of Temple of Deliverance, where he worked in Children''s Church. He was a funeral director and embalmer with Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park. He was on the board of the Salvation Army, and worked with the Boy Scouts of America. He served his country during Vietnam in the U. S. Army. The family will receive friends 10-11 am, Friday, followed by services at 11 am at Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ.
