Lyle Monroe
Ledbury
Apr 20, 1933 — May 11, 2023
Lyle Monroe Ledbury, ninety, passed away on May 11, 2023.
Lyle grew up in Wisconsin until the age of fifteen. He then moved to the Bootheel of Missouri to live with his sister and later made Memphis his home. Lyle spent time serving his country in the Navy, earning the title of 1st class boilerman. He retired after working for AT&T for thirty years. Lyle leaves behind the legacy of a faithful husband, a great father, and a devoted Christian at West Fayette Church of Christ. He enjoyed camping and hiking with his family and friends. Lyle loved spending time with his friends and family and was always ready for a game of Hand and Foot. Due to his many talents, ranging from woodworking to mechanical skills and simply thinking outside of the box, his family frequently went to him for repairing broken items and solving other problems.
Lyle is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Bettie Fae; one daughter, Shelah Ledbury; two sons, Keith Ledbury and Cary (Gloria) Ledbury; five grandchildren, Emily (Dustin) Spayde, Jonathan (Brittney) Ledbury, Nathan (Lia) Ledbury, Olivia Jackson, and Brooke Jackson; three great grandchildren, Ruth Spayde, Caleb Spayde, and Sawyer Ledbury.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Herbert Ledbury; his mother, Arlene Clara Ledbury; as well as two brothers, Ewart Ledbury and David Ledbury; three sisters, Geneva Ledbury, Ruth Hershey, and Marie Hall.
