WALLS, MS -- Mrs. Lynell K. Horton, 84, passed away at her home in Walls, MS, on Thursday March 16, 2017. Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Horton; her son, Mike Talbert and a granddaughter, Ashley Horton. She is survived by 2 sons: Jack K. Talbert (Patsy), and Ricky Horton (Cheryl) both of Walls; 11 Grandchildren and 16 Great grandchildren; a sister, Jean (Dwayne) Harris,and also a special friend and caregiver, Berenda Willis. Mrs. Horton had been a math teacher and counselor for 30 years with the DeSoto County School System. Lynell was a Godly woman; she loved her church family at Desoto Hills Baptist Church where she was a member. In 1998 she served one year as a missionary in Belize. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Desoto Hills Baptist Church in Southaven, MS 4680 Getwell Road on Monday, March 20, 2017 with service immediately following. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery South. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials are sent to: DeSoto Hills Baptist Church Building Fund.
