Lynville Coleman
Stalnaker
April 13, 1928 – July 29, 2025
Lynville (Lynn) Coleman Stalnaker was born April 13, 1928 in Toccopola, MS to Floyd D Coleman & Bertha Lauderdale Coleman. Lynville was preceded in death by her parents & seven siblings; Jim, Eva, Wayne, Pauline, Christine, Hazel & Dwain. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Herman Reid Stalnaker. They lost a a newborn son, Jerry Coleman, who was born & died on June 30, 1951.
Lynville's survivors include son, David (Terri) of Little Rock AR; daughter Rita (Harold) of Olive Branch MS; son Mark (Debbie) of Olive Branch MS. She leaves 7 grandchildren; Stacey, Corey, Carley, Ryan, Christie, Adam & Ashley. She also leaves 11 great grand children & 1 great great grand daughter.
Lynville grew up in Toccopola with her siblings & a clan of cousins. She graduated from Toccopola High School. After she & Reid married, they lived in several MS towns & then moved to Whitehaven, a Memphis suburb, in 1955. They were members of the Whitehaven church of Christ that later moved to Southaven MS & became the Goodman Oaks church of Christ. She served in the church teaching children, setting hair for ladies in the Mid south Christian Nursing Home. She also prepared a million church casseroles.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and vegetable gardening with Reid, plus caring for her flowers. She was a certified dental assistant for Drs Thomas Gulledge & Dr Posey Hedges for many years. After retirement, she & Reid built a home, in Hernando MS. After his passing, she moved to Southaven. In 2016, she moved to SilverCreek Assisted Living and then in 2024 she moved to the Pinnacle of Southaven Memory Care. She loved, dearly & was loved by all. Her best advice was, "Do what you can do & let the rest go".
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Goodman Oaks church of Christ or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A private family burial will be at a later date.
