Parks
Mar 9, 1937 — Apr 23, 2021
Mable Ruth Parks, 84, went to her eternal home April 23, 2021.Born March 9, 1937 in Detroit TN she was the daughter of the late John C. and Edna Sanders. Mable was one of eight Sanders children. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles W. Parks (Bill), three daughters Ann Brown (Reid), Susan Parks, Stacy Poole(Lance) and one son Billy Parks (Teresa). Mable was the loving Nana to 6 grandchildren Chris Brown (Brenna), Megan Hubbard (Kirby), Krista Parks, Brett Parks, Laura Poole and Graham Poole. She was also Nana to her 5 great grandchildren Kaelyn, Owen, and Dean Brown and Brooks & Harrison Hubbard.Mable was a lifelong member of Decatur Trinity Christian Church where she dedicated many years to serving her Lord and worshipped with her Disciples of Christ church family. She most recently worshipped at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Prosper Texas. Mable was a leader, servant, and mentor to many in her church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and taught in many areas throughout her years of service.Mable graduated from Humes High School in 1954. She retired from Farris Evans Insurance Agency in 2001 after 36 years. Her Farris Evans coworkers were more than coworkers, to her they were a second family.Mable was well known for her love of sports of all kinds. She is remembered by many as their biggest and loudest fan. She was always on a ball field of some kind whether it was for her own son, Billy, her grandchildren, or any one of her many nieces and nephews. She continued this tradition even after moving to Texas the last few years by attending as many of Prestonwood North's sporting events as she could. Even though she loved the sports, those of us who knew her know the enthusiasm was more about the people playing and her love for them. She loved her people fiercely. This love which was rooted in her love for Jesus Christ is what made Mable a devoted wife to Bill, caring mom to her children, a generous Aunt Mable, a loving Nana, and a dear friend to many!Mable will be missed and her life will be honored in services on Monday May 17th, 2021 at Forest Hill Home & Memorial Park-East2440 Whitten RoadMemphis TN. 38133The family will receive family and friendsMonday May 17th 12:30-2:00pService will begin at 2:00p with burial to follow.Mable gave generously to many throughout her lifetime and in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to St. Jude Children's hospital, one of Mable's favorite charities.
