Obituary

Mae Teresa Facello, born, September 22, 1930.  She passed peacefully into eternal glory October 1, 2023.  She is preceded in death by her parents Joe Facello and Annunziata Fratini Facello, her sisters, and brothers in law Mildred (Wesley) Starnes, Velma Facello, Alveria (David) Gibson, Geneva (Benito) Pierotti.  She is survived by her youngest sister Frances (Bill) Foley and four generations of numerous devoted nephews and nieces.

Mae, along with her older sister, Alveria, was in the fifth graduating class of St Thomas Academy on Trigg in 1950. She was an ace reporter for the school newspaper and kept the entire school amused with her humorous observations. Upon graduation she retired from Block Drugs after many years as a dependable and loyal employee known for "motivating people to get the job done quickly and efficiently" by her charm and determination.

Meanwhile Mae assisted her parents, and sister, Velma in tirelessly maintaining the family farm at Mitchell Road and Hwy 61 in Memphis. She was an example to her nephews, and nieces of a diligent work ethic, frugal saving, teamwork of working together as a family, but also having compassion of caring for aging parents and importance of laughter and a plate of tomatoes at the end of a hard work day as a farmer's daughter.

Throughout her life, Mae loved gardening beautiful flowers, her favorite were hydrangeas, she also loved cutting grass, picking peaches, playing bocce, bingo, board games, water skiing, camping in tents, ballroom dancing, music, competitive women's bowling league, and caring for her beloved dog, Missy.
